Workout of the Weak Stroke

Summer has officially come to an end, but that doesn’t mean you can’t capitalize on all the great work you put in the summer!

This installment of the Workout of the Week brings you back to your roots by working on your weakest stroke.

Today’s workout has you working on your worst or weakest stroke along with your best stroke in a fun pyramid, main set. 

Warm up: Just a solid 500 warmup here – shake it out and get ready!

  • 200 Free @ 0:15 rest
  • 200 Pull @ 0:15 rest
  • 100 Choice swim @ 0:15 rest

Main set:  Focus on maintaining form while swimming strong.  Don’t be afraid to work on your weaker strokes! Modify those intervals if needed.

2 rounds total:

  • 50 kick @ 1:30 fast
  • 100 @ 2:00 50 dr/sw 
  • 150 @ 3:00 50 worst/50 best/50 choice 
  • 200 pull @ :20 rest, just stretch it out
  • 150 @ 3:00 50 worst/50 best/50 choice
  • 100 @ 2:00 50 dr/sw
  • 50 kick @ 1:30
  • fast, take 1 extra minute then repeat set once more! 
  • 200 easy choice

Total yardage: 2300
