  1. I am truly delighted with your decision to hire a marketing manager. No not me, I’m 80 years old, but for a long time, I think that, with a marketing leader, you would have chosen a slightly different path. One in which you would develop a revenue stream. I don’t mean to be crass, but revenue is a key measurement of success. Done properly, It breeds success. If you continue to not want to charge your user base a fee, consider swim tools with your logo. You already have a retail platform, right?

I would hope that among those requirements you list, this person should be either a seasoned swim coach, or a successful competitive swimmer. That would be where the charisma comes from.

And finally, consider combining efforts with Totalimmersion. With Terry gone, they may be interested. It was through his activities that I recognized the need for a swim watch almost 25 years ago, and I’ve never been without one since that time.

While I’ve been typing, here’s one person that comes to mind. He was a swimmer, became the development manager for FINIS, then the marketing manager there. His name is Mark Stevens. I think he became frustrated with the lack of leadership there and joined a startup in swimming wear. I lost track of him. But I had several telephone conversations with him. I was very impressed with his intelligence and marketing ability.

So, I’m excited for you, and wish you success. I’d be happy to help, for free!
