In this week’s installment of the Workout of the Week, we’ll center ourselves around the core. While training at home, keeping the fundamentals alive, including a strong core, is an essential step to maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
Feel free to sprinkle in more or less of whatever it is your body needs as you roll through this one. Also keep in mind our friends at SwimOutlet are running live workout videos on Instagram, and each of the instructors use Swim.com to upload their workout!
Warmup
- Two rounds: No rest between each exercise, take 1:00-2:00 minutes rest between the two rounds!
- 2:00 jump rope or jog in place (:50 on/:10 off x2)
- 10 streamline squats
- 20 crunches
- 10 streamline squats
- 20 leg-lifts
Intense Abs Circuit
- Three rounds: No rest between each exercise, take 1:00-2:00 minutes rest between the two rounds!
- 1:30 plank (1 perfect push up @ :10, :20, :30, :40, :50 & :60, etc.)
- 20 mountain climbers
- 1:30 wall sit (pick a sturdy surface for this one!)
- 20 Russian Twist
- 1:30 plank (same as above)
- 20 flutter kicks
- 1:30 wall sit (same as above)
- 20 squats
Cool Down
Make sure you finish this workout with your favorite warm down series. Feel free to mix in some yoga or light cardio to help flush the lactic acid out of your system
